Based on the success of Start-Up Camp Canberra, Lighthouse introduced Teen Start-Up in 2015. Run over the course of a single weekend students form teams, work together to come up with an idea for a business and then pitch their concept to a panel of judges. Students participate in workshops and presentations from industry professionals and entrepreneurs.

First Responders is the theme for January Teen Start-Up
Teen Start-Up: First Responders is an innovation camp for 12-18 year olds during the January school holidays.
Over three fun-filled days, students are taken through the innovation development process from idea to execution. School students from across Canberra will form teams, work with mentors, hear from industry experts and come up with an idea for a business or social enterprise and then pitch their concept to a panel of judges.
The theme for this competition is "First Responders". Actions taken in the first minutes of an emergency are critical and first responders play a crucial role in everything from natural disasters like floods, fires, earthquakes and cyclones; to criminal acts; pandemic outbreaks; car accidents; chemical spills and even shipwrecks.
