Canberra BusinessPoint Employment Clinic

21 Feb 2012 - 10:00am
21 Feb 2012 - 4:00pm

Employing staff was never straightforward, but with the never ending changes to legislation and employment regulations it is now just plain daunting. Understanding your obligations as an employer and the obligations your employees have to you is an important tool to ensuring the success of your business. It also becomes an important tool for retaining good employees and removing those that are not committed to you and your business.

CBP Clinics are one-on-one, confidential sessions, for up to one hour, between a service provider and Canberra BusinessPoint client.   In this session, you can receive advice about your specific employment related issues.

Possible topics include:

·         National Employment Standards

·         Modern Award obligations

·         Changes in legislation and impacts on you and your business

·         Employment contracts

·         Probationary periods

·         Employees vs. contractors

·         Retrenching staff

·         Dealing with claims against you by staff

·         Home based work and staff responsibilities

·         Obligations to part time and casual staff

Each session will run for 50 minutes.   You will never be ‘sold’ to in a CBP clinic—this is about the specific advice you need right now.

To ensure that participants get the most out of the time-limited session, they will be required to brief a Canberra BusinessPoint advisor prior to making a booking
